Terry Marsden Obituary

TERRY MARSDEN

Terry was born November 8, 1933, in Youngstown, Ohio and passed away on February 13, 2024 at the age of 90 in Cortez, Colo. Terry spent most of her teens and twenties living and working in Chicago. She loved Rush Street, the near North side and her music was jazz.

When Terry's father became seriously ill, she returned to Ohio in 1960 and cared for him until he passed away in 1963. At that time a friend, who was working in Las Vegas, convinced her to make the trip out west to Nevada for a well-earned vacation. Terry decided in short order to make Vegas home. She found work at the CBS affiliate, KLAS-TV, and before long met her lifetime pal, Connell Marsden, an executive at Nevada Power Company. They married on June 18, 1966.

Over the years the Marsdens made frequent trips to southwestern Colorado and knew that Colorado was there they wanted to retire. So, in the Colorado mid-winter of 90-91, they arrived to their new home on snowy Summit Ridge above Mancos. They did love Mancos and soon had to get involved, Conn on the Chamber and Terry on the library board.

After 18 years on the summit, in July 2009, they relocated to Cortez when Conn's health began to fail. Terry and Conn were married 47 years until his passing in March 2013. They had many wonderful friends, two legged and four legged, and many deceased family members.

No services are planned. Instead, Terry has requested donations be made in her name with Hospice of Montezuma, PO Box 740, Cortez, Colo. 81321; and Pets Sake Human Society, P.O. Box 1705, Cortez, Colo. 81321.
